KING KONG AT LONG LAST

I can't believe it! It's finally here! In a few short moments I walk out my front door to go see the movie I've been waiting to see for the past two years! Though I have not read any actual reviews of the film, the "buzz" among critics is that it is an astounding feat of cinema. But should we expect any less from genius Peter Jackson? I think not.

And now.... to KONG!!!

My capsule review:

Not a good movie, by any means.

But certainly a fun movie.

I could have watched the monkey fighting the dinosaurs for three hours. That would have been a movie.

The dialogue was, you know, odd. Jack Black was, you know, Jack Black-ian. The other creatures on the island besides the T-Rexes and the monkey were kind of cheap looking.

I enjoyed it. I liked that the actress was vaudevillian and won the beast over with comedy. Nice tweak. It had some flaws, but I didn't regret going to see it.

the vaudeville twist was nice, i liked it also. For me everything on the island was amazing --the vine swinging bit was incredible.

About the vine swing: if you were a dinosaur hanging from vines a few hundred feet in the air, wouldn't you be more concerned about finding a way not to fall to your death and less concerned about trying to eat one human female?

Your efforts to find plausibility in the least plausible of circumstances is admirable Doorframe.
